Scarlett Johansson is an American singer and actress born in New York City the city of New York, on November 22nd in 1984. Her acting has earned the attention of a broad spectrum of genres such as the genres of period dramas or thrillers, as well as action films. Johansson was born in New York City, and was raised by an father, an architect, and mother who produced. Hunter, her twin brother, and she were both the youngest out of four kids. When she reached seven years old, her love of acting had increased. She started to audition for commercials. Her interest in acting grew quickly and she enrolled shortly thereafter in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. At age eight she appeared together with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry when she was nine. At that age, she made her film debut in Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson subsequently starred as a character in Just Cause (1995), but her first break came with Manny & Lo a coming of age movie about two sisters running away. The Horse Whisperer (1998) Johansson's role, which is a teenaged girl with an ailment, was well-loved by critics. Later she became known for her role as the cynical teenage Rebecca in Ghost World. Much like many other new actresses have done, she decided to further develop her skills in theater. In addition to other projects around the USA she also made her theatrical debut in Wildflower. She attended the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory, part of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
